Host a Baked Potato Bar Get-Together

Host a Baked Potato Bar Get-Together

The next time you find yourself entertaining a group of people, here’s an idea for food that’s sure to be a hit.  A baked potato bar!

In the oven, bake at least 1 potato, wrapped in tin foil for 1 hour on 350 degrees for each guest you plan to serve.  These will be so amazing however, you’ll want to bake a few extras for the people who want seconds.  You’ll want them fully cooked by the time it is time to serve.

These new Crockpot Hookups are perfect for hosting a baked potato bar.  They hook together and can either cook the food individually in each (taking several hours), or to simply keep each dish hot.

Here are some ideas to use as toppings for your baked potatoes:

1.  Broccoli in a cheese sauce

2.  Seasoned taco meat (have cheese, salsa, sour cream and guacamole on the side as well for topping).

3.  Make 1 crockpot with chopped onions, mushrooms and cream of mushroom soup, cook until onions and mushrooms are tender and soft.

4.  Chili  (have on the side shredded cheddar cheese and onions) to top as well.

5.  A beef stroganoff would be wonderful too.

Other toppings to have on the side would be sour cream, and chives cut up.  Anything else you can think of too.

If you want to create a pot-luck type of spin on it, or add a competition game twist, ask guests to bring their most creative topping to share.  You could award some type of small homemade gift to the one voted, most creative, or most delicious, or for a laugh, the worst idea ever.

When it is time to eat, have each of your guests take a hot baked potato, then go through the line putting the toppings each would like to eat.  This is such a fun and creative way to give your guests lots of options.  It would be easy to do in a pot-luck setting as well.

Dessert Line Up

Have another set of Crockpot Hookups dedicated for the desserts.  You could have one for a melted hot chocolate fudge and another for a hot melted caramel.  Yum!

This dessert bar may be served with ice cream, bananas, strawberries, angel food cake, apples, pears, and any other items that lend itself to chocolate and caramel.  Wow, my mouth is watering here.
